How long does it take?
Generally around 4 hours, though this can vary from one system to another. In some cases, it can take up to 6 hours. In our experience, every home is different, so we prefer to allow a little more time than necessary. If you need to book time off from work, we’d advise to be on the safe side and allow a full day. On arrival we'll need about 20 minutes of your time before getting on with the job.

What Does It Do?
The 'Powerflushing' pumping unit we use moves a high volume of water and chemicals at low pressure around your heating system. The pump is connected to either your heating system circulation pump valves or to the pipework of one of your radiators.
The powerful flow, combined with our carefully chosen cleaning chemical and an instantaneous flow-reverser device, dislodges and mobilises deposits and corrosion which resist traditional system cleaning methods.

What Chemicals Do You Use?
There’s many different ones available for this process, but it’s very important that the right one is used. It depends on the type of boiler and heating system you have, so we’ll select one of several specialised cleaning chemicals.
The chosen chemical is then pumped around the heating system as a whole, and then around each radiator in turn until all parts of the system have been completely exposed to the cleaning power of it.

Pump And Dump
Once the corrosion and sludge deposits have been loosened and mobilised, fresh clean water is then forced through the entire heating system, pushing the contaminated water out through a full bore dump valve as waste.
During this process, all the radiators are individually flushed, without having to remove or disconnect them from the system, by directing the full output of the pump through each radiator separately.

Final Clean and Protect
After the flushing process, the system contains fresh clean water. An inhibitor is then added to prevent further corrosion. Reinstatement of the system to normal operation takes only a few minutes.

Powerflushing is the process by which heating systems are forcibly cleansed using the right chemical at high velocity, but low pressure, so that no physical damage is caused to the system. The objective is to restore systems with circulation and boiler noise problems (caused by sludge, corrosion deposits and limescale) to optimum operation. Power flushing removes these deposits and the problems that they cause.

Powerflushing can make a dramatic difference to the operating efficiency of most systems.
